GARDENING CLUB WEDNESDAY APRIL 1ST AT 5PM
What a lovely start to our new season of Our Tiny Veg Growers gardening club on Wednesday 1st April. We did a lot of work planting, sowing and continuing the work needed around the gardens.
The children enjoyed their Easter treats sat at the new table & bench set...lots of fun & commaraderie with them all working & playing together.
The beautiful new table & bench set is ideal to sit at, to watch and enjoy nature at its best, for the children to sit at and discuss their plans for their gardening club and their futures with nature... PREVENTING AND RAISING AWARENESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL GENERATIONAL AMNESIA!!
The volunteers & some of the children gardeners have been very busy for the past few weeks getting ready for our next season of environmentally friendly organic gardening.
We've got new higher raised beds to now plant up all the new seeds, bulbs etc.
All the old beds and any surplus materials have been used sympathetically to make a very interesting insect habitat in a corner that was not used. We've now got a very interesting well established NO MOW / WILD FLOWER/ PLANT AREA where nature has been allowed to grow in its own way with no disturbance of it's habitat. The children have observed no less than 19 ladybirds on the nettles, flowers & plants naturally.
AN ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL MESSAGE THAT NATURE WILL THRIVE IN ITS OWN ENVIRONMENT WHEN LEFT ALONE.
The beds have now been prepared & filled with good organic growing matter using the very best materials from FIRED EARTH & compost which means we are starting our growing season from the bottom of each bed upwards to produce the best produce organically. Watch this space!!!!!
We've lots of new tools & equipment & a very large shed to store them in.
